Intermittent Problems: Labor Policy:
Intermittent problems can be difficult to diagnose and track down. To ensure an accurate diagnosis, Z A Auto Diagnostics must be able to replicate your concern. I may require additional details regarding when the issue occurs. For example
- How often does the problem occur?
- When was the issue first noticed?
- Were any repairs performed prior to the start of this concern?
- Does the problem occur during a cold start or when the engine is at operating temperature?
- Does the symptom manifest while turning left or right?
- Is the issue affected by specific weather conditions (e.g., wet, cold or hot)?
- Initial Evaluation: If the concern cannot be replicated within the first hour of diagnosis, I will not proceed further unless the client request and authorize additional testing time.
- Billing: If the issue is not replicated during the initial hour, client will be billed for one hour of labor. The diagnosis will be documented as "Unable to replicate client's concern".
I can provide a recommendation based on the current symptoms by reviewing the health report, history codes, and any applicable Technical Service Bulletins.
However, I strongly recommend waiting until the issue becomes more prominent, as it will be easier to track down at a later date. Please note that a separate diagnosis fee will apply.
